Vespa's Historical Culture

The Vespa designed in 1951 by Corradino D'Ascanio was generated as a design to push Italy out of the austerity of post-war years and for a long time in the 60's represented freedom for a huge youth movement that craved an outlet to express themselves. This romanticism still lives on for Vespa today but is certainly dwindling. No other scooter holds this level of gravitas but with the emergence of new technologies people in urban areas are demanding a knew form of ecologically friendly, small foot-printed vehicle to get them from A-B as quickly as possible.
